My Twilight Fairy Digital Drawing

Ok, this isn't exactly my first full digital drawing but it's my first most complete digital drawing using more advanced features.
I still think I could do the job in half the time with tradition mediums but I have to admit I'm starting to like the ability to edit and try different colors without ruining my painting.
So here's the drawing in it's sketch stage.

And here is the finished illustration after many hours of work.

Painting a Farm Boy

This is my first successful painted line art in Illustrator after spending many hours learning it. The line art was originally hand drawn then converted into vector.
This technique has it's pros and cons. I still feel it's pretty limited. At least in the way, I like to work.
Although I really like the options and the allowance for easy editing I can't get the same softness in blends you can get with photoshop. It definitely provides the comic book, coloring book feel. I can see how vector artists can really get into it.
So, I guess it's a matter of taste and preference, depending on what the art is going to be used for. I'm just trying it all to find out how I want to define my work. There will be times I'll need to use it and times I won't.

Digital painting A Mouse

Well, it's been a while since I last posted. The holidays and illness have postponed much of my work. But I plug away any chance I get.

I recently pulled out another line art I'd done years ago. I scanned it in and colored it in photoshop. I'm not liking the line work Photoshop offers, but then I don't really like the full digital look either. As I become more comfortable with using the brushes and learning to tweak them to get the desired affect, I may grow to like it better.

So, here's my latest attempt. I'll add more recent sketches I produced later. For now, I'm going to work on some older ones first.
